Summary

Anyone can dream up goals, but it’s how we weave our intentions into our daily reality that matters.

We go through the day perceiving our own intentions to be important but negotiable. Simultaneously, we consciously or unconsciously view others’ intentions for us (e.g. our time and energy) as fixed, non-negotiable. And there’s where the process falls apart.

Hi, it's Brad Kearns recording today's post with the title, The Importance of Non-negotiable No Matter What Rules.

0:23.8

This is an important post. I'd like you to listen carefully because Mark really worked hard on getting

0:28.5

the language extremely correct and meaningful because there's a lot of nuance here that you need

0:34.2

to pay attention to. In fact, I was talking to him about his recent keynote

0:38.3

address at PaleoFX, and he told me that it resonated with many people because he gave them a

getting those no matter what rules so that you actually do achieve things and accomplish

1:12.4

things that you set out to do and not get pulled away by the temptations and distractions

of modern society. Here we go. Behind all good intentions, the long-range vision, the ultimate

1:24.4

goals, the short-term strategies, or the daily routines is our bottom line.

1:30.3

What is the least we are willing to accept from ourselves on a given day?

1:36.3

This is a question, it's probably the most important one you'll ever ask yourself.

1:41.3

Experience tells me the biggest obstacle for people is their perception,

1:46.4

their perception of their circumstances, their perception of time, their perception of their

1:51.4

bodies, their perception of their potential. Anyone can dream up goals, but it's how we weave our

1:57.6

intentions into our daily reality that matters. We go through the day perceiving

2:02.4

our own intentions to be important, but negotiable. Simultaneously, we consciously or unconsciously

2:08.7

view others' intentions for us, for example, our time and energy, as fixed and non-negotiable,
