Today, we have not one but two track stars on the show. In this episode of The Homestretch w/Adrian Durant we have with us, the famous Barber Twins. Me’Lisa (Lisa) and Mikele (Miki) Barber are accomplished American track and field sprint athletes. Both have won several gold medals on the world track and field stage in their sprinting event, the 4×100 meters. Miki won gold at the 4 x 100 meters relay event in 2007 World Championships in Athletics, in Osaka, Japan, and an individual gold medal at the 100 meters in 2007 Pan Am Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Lisa was the champion in 2003 and 2005 World Championships and also won a gold medal on 2006 World Indoor Championships. Also, the twin sisters have been featured in several national publications, including USA Today, Track and Field News, Sports Illustrated, and Fearless Magazine.
In this interview with Lisa and Miki, we talk about their life story, how they got into track and running. How both the sisters supported each other throughout their running career and what challenges they faced. Lisa and Miki shares their time at University of South Carolina to becoming a World Champion. We will also talk about what the Barber twins are doing now and their future plans.
