Welcome to another episode of The Homestretch w/Adrian Durant, where we meet and have conversations with some of the most inspiring and elite athletes, coaches and sports personalities. Our today's guest, Renny Quow is a Trinidadian male track and field sprinter who represented Trinidad and Tobago in many international track & field events including World Indoor Championships, IAAF World Relays, Commonwealth Games and World Championships where he won Bronze and Silver medals at Berlin and Beijing respectively.

In this interview with Renny Quow we talk about his fantastic career as an athlete. Renny shares about how his early days were like and when he got into track & field. He talks about his time at South Plains College where he became the most successful quarter miler in the college's history. Renny is truly an elite athlete; he has medalled in every major junior/senior championships outside the Olympic Games making him the most decorated 400m runner to come out of Trinidad & Tobago. We also talk about how Renny was able to succeed as an athlete and his plans for the future.

0:22.0	So a little bit about Renee's background. He's a world champion in the 4x4 also silver medalist at the 2015 world champs in Beijing and a bronze medalist in the open 400 at the 2009 world in Berlin.
0:36.0	Multiple times CAC gold medalist on what are top sprinters of the Caribbean and also the only 400 meter sprinter from Trinidad ever to be in the Olympic and the world final.
0:48.0	And only 400 meter run from Trinidad to make it in every major 400 meter final.

1:01.0	So, uh, Renee, how did you get how did you get started in track and field?
1:07.0	I guess started. Yeah, what was what got you going? Yeah, you got to take us back.
1:12.0	Shoot, this is way back, but it's all right. I got time. But, um, let me see, he started when I was like nine.
1:21.0	You know, I saw him a best friend.
1:26.0	Um, running.
1:28.0	And I've never seen anyone move that fast before and I wanted to.
1:33.0	I wanted to do what he did, you know.
1:36.0	Uh, his name is, uh, his name is Damon Douglas. And he impressed me for like, he's the one that had me inspired, you know.
1:48.0	And, uh, when I started beating him, I, you know, I started imitating everything he did, everything, like what he ate.
1:59.0	I was just a friend of him. I used to go home by him. I used to do everything. He did walk like him, talk like him.
2:06.0	Because I wanted to know his secret.

2:13.0	we trained together and I started beating him after a while, a couple of years later.
