Welcome to another episode of The Homestretch w/Adrian Durant, where we meet and have conversations with some of the most inspiring and elite athletes, coaches and sports personalities. Our today’s' guest Eddie Lovett is a professional sprinter who specializes in the 110 meters hurdles. Eddie represents U.S. Virgin Islands in international events and has also represented United States. Lovett won a gold medal in the 110 meters hurdles at the 2011 Pan American Junior Athletics Championships. He has also represented U.S. Virgin Islands in 2016 Rio Olympics, World Championships and various other international track & field events.
In this interview with Eddie Lovett, Palm Beach Lakes class of 2010 alumni, former Florida Gator, and 2016 Olympian Eddie Lovett shares his journey of becoming a pro athlete. He talks about his time at University of Florida and running for the college team. He shares, how he was initially into football and why he pivoted to track & field, specifically hurdles. Eddie also talks about how much he was affected after the loss of his father and how he used his personal tragedy to motivate himself on the track and went on to win the NCAA Indoor 60m Hurdles in meet record time. We will also talk about Eddie's current life events and future plans.
