Hello and welcome to another edition of the Byron New York show, the No Chip Chat Podcast.

We'd like to get right into it today and what we're going to get into now is hopefully

hoping for Biden.

That is, hopes that President Biden might come out of his recent doldrum and the polls

and rescue Democrats in November.

So I want to start this with a striking moment that happened on NBC's Meet the Press.

Chuck Todd, the moderator, brought up a poll that had been recently released by National

Public Radio and Marist.

And it showed President Biden's job approval rating at 47 percent with a disapproval rating

of 50 percent.

Now that's still underwater, it's not great, but it is better than what a number of polls

have showed it to be recently.

And the screen on Meet the Press showed that that poll with Biden at 47 percent compared

to another poll, another NPR Marist survey, same poll, from two weeks earlier that showed

Biden's approval rating at 39 percent with a 55 percent disapproval rate.

So one poll, 47 percent, poll just two weeks earlier, 39 percent, big change.

Now one poll was done before Biden's State of the Union address and the Russian invasion

of Ukraine and the other one was done after.

So Biden is at 39 percent before the State of the Union and the Russian invasion of

Ukraine and he's at 47 percent.
