or his theological projects of sorts?

Well, I knew of him, I guess, since 20 years ago maybe,

but he was not really on my radar until a few years ago, until maybe

four years ago, when he became very popular among Calvinistic evangelicals here in Romania.

For most part, evangelicals who became Calvin's in Romania were influenced by figures such as John MacArthur, John Piper, and everything that was going on at Ligonier.
