There are three promises in these verses, and they get increasingly better. So let's just take

them one at a time and make sure we highlight them.

The first one is in verse 40, I will not turn away from doing good to them. And I ask, in view of all the painful things in the world, how can that be? What does that mean?

And what are some other texts? He will not turn away from doing good to his people, his covenant people.

And I think the answer is very simple. It means he will not turn away from doing them good or putting it positively,
