Hello my friends and welcome back to the morning mindset. It's time for you and for me to get

our minds aligned with the truth of God this Advent season. And I want to say a special

thank you to some new partners who come on to support what we're doing with morning

mindset. There's Jonathan and Satu and Todd and Shemiche and Elizabeth and Brenda and

Paul. Thank you all for coming on as partners this last week. I sure appreciate your partnership

and your belief in what's happening here through the morning mindset. Now as we continue on

here in the Christmas season, we are looking at various passages that are giving us a taste of

what's to come in our Christmas celebration. And many of these are passages that were prophesying

the coming of the Messiah. That's what we're looking at today from the book of Isaiah chapter 60

verses 1 through 3. This was a prophecy that was given to the Old Testament people of Israel to

look forward to their Messiah. And as I read these words, I want you to put yourself in their

sandals so to speak. Try to imagine if you were hundreds of years before the Messiah came and

you're anticipating this Redeemer and Savior who's going to come and deliver your people and what

you would have heard when you heard these words. This is Isaiah 60 1 through 3.

Arise shine for your light has come and the glory of the Lord has risen upon you. For behold,

darkness shall cover the earth and thick darkness the peoples. But the Lord will arise upon you.

And his glory will be seen upon you and nations shall come to your light and kings to the brightness

of your rising. Can you put yourself there? Can you imagine what it would have been like to be

picturing a time when the world itself was going to be dark? There was going to be oppression and

sinfulness and bad times going on all around. Sounds kind of familiar, doesn't it? And he says

that thick darkness would be upon all the people. So across the globe it sounds like across all the

nations. But the Lord will arise upon you as his chosen people and his glory will be seen upon you.
