Summary

Today I’m chatting with Gloria Furman on the global Church. So you’ll know her a little better, Gloria (MACE, Dallas Theological Seminary) is a wife, mother of four, cross-cultural worker, editor, and writer. In 2008 her family moved to the Middle East to plant Redeemer Church of Dubai where her husband, Dave, serves as the pastor. Gloria’s one of those women who oozes Scripture when she speaks. Throughout our friendship, many of the nuggets of wisdom she’s shared with me have really helped to reorient my thinking towards eternity.   GLORIA’S RESOURCES The Temple and the Church’s Mission by G.K. Welcome to the Journey Women Podcast. I'm your host, Hunter Beelis. Life's a journey we

0:08.6

were never meant to walk alone. We all need friends along the way. On the Journey Women

0:13.0

Podcast, we'll chat with mentors about gracefully navigating the seasons and challenges we face

0:18.2

on our journeys to glorify God. On today's episode of the Journey Women Podcast, we're

0:23.7

kicking off a tin part series on the church! We all know that culture is screaming,

0:28.6

you do you, you'll know, you're enough! And applauding us for being misindependent! But

0:34.6

as Christ followers, we know that this isn't the path to fulfillment. The Bible says that

0:39.0

we're part of the family of God. We're like bricks in a building, sheep in a flock,

0:43.6

a member of the body and priests in a priesthood. The purpose of this series is to help us remember

0:49.6

who we are in the context of the body of Christ, which will help us deal with everyday issues

0:55.2

that plague us, and it will also help us fight back against that prideful independence

1:00.6

that our culture praises. Our hope is that these conversations will encourage us to consider

1:05.7

how to stir one another up to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together as

1:10.6

is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as we see the day drawing

1:16.0

near. We have an incredible list of guests lined up for you guys to discuss topics like

1:20.6

how to find a healthy church. What it looks like to use our gifts to bless the body, how to

1:25.6

exercise our gifts as women in the church, and so much more. Our prayer is that all of these

1:31.1

conversations will stir your affection for Christ, for your brothers and sisters in Christ, and

1:36.8

encourage you to joyfully pursue local church membership and service to the glory of God. Today,
