The fight to keep a decades-old FDA-approved portion bill, legal and accessible throughout the country is continuing this weekend, and the

issue has now reached the Supreme Court. Following emergency appeals filed by the Justice Department

and the drug manufacturer, Danko Laboratories yesterday, Justice Samuel Alito, paused the

lower court's ruling that would have restricted access to the nationwide to the abortion

bill, Mephafristone.

So for now, at least, until next week, access to Breffaphaestown has been preserved.

But the matter is far from resolved and the future of abortion pills remains uncertain.

Justice Alito's order merely maintains the status quo for a few more days to allow the justices

time to consider the issue. The White House,

on the other hand, is doubling down on defending reproductive rights. On Tuesday, Vice President

Kamala Harris will be in Reno, Nevada, to discuss the importance of keeping abortion legal.

Mepapristone is one of the two drugs often used to induce an abortion, a method that has been

proven to be safe, effective,

and popular. Medication abortion now accounts for more than half of all abortions performed in the

United States. Meanwhile, a near total abortion ban in Florida will have dire consequences for

those living in the South. Late Thursday night, the governor's office announced that Ron DeSantis

had quietly signed a bill into law

that will ban abortions after the sixth week of pregnancy, way before many women even know that they are pregnant.

The law won't take effect until Florida Supreme Court resolves a challenge to the state's current 15-week abortion ban,

which the Sanza signed last year.
