Myrtle Beach Week continues, and today we're heading south.

Our 10-minute walk is going to be in a place that's called the Family Beach, and it's not just that,

but it's also got something that Ava and I really miss from our years living in Maryland.

Myrtle Beach Week continues, and we are actually not in Myrtle Beach for today's 10-minute walk. We're in a place that's

called the Family Beach. It's actually Surfside Beach and it is just south, about 10 minutes

south of the Myrtle Beach city limits.

Same county, ORI County, still part of the Grand Strand, that's 60 miles of beach that runs

from the North Carolina, South Carolina border, 60 miles south to beyond Pauley's Island.

So a surfside beach, still very much part of the Grand Strand, still a tourist attraction,

but it is just outside the Myrtle, Merdle Beach City Limits, why I feel it's important to mention that.

I'm not entirely sure, but I do. Before it was known as surfside it was originally called

Roaches Beach I can't imagine why they wanted to change that then it was

floral beach and in 1952 they changed the name to surfside beach surfside beach

surfside beach is really small. Mertl Beach gets all the attention.

It gets most of the people. Surfside Beach, it's got, Merle has hundreds of restaurants,

more hotels than I could count.

It's probably not true.

I probably could count them if I wanted to, but I don't want to.

Surfside Beach has one hotel.
