Electrification is this big test of can we build big things in the country, can we grow an economy

that doesn't have a lot of greenhouse gas emissions and gets us to zero and have good jobs.

And right now, we're failing that test in a major way.

We're basically saying, we can't handle this load, this increase in electricity to demand.

This is too scary.

We have been here before.

Previously, we did it with fossil fuels.

We've got to do it with clean energy now.

Why is this happening with me, your host, Chris Hayes.

You know, there are two, I think, sleeper issues right now in American politics that aren't getting any attention really in national

political discourse, but I think are huge sleeper issues, particularly because they relate to

affordability. And affordability is like cost of living is the number one issue in poll after

poll after polls. And one issue under Biden. It was clearly the driver, I think, the definitive

issue in 2024. But it is continued. It's the thing that Donald I think, the definitive issue in 2024, but it is

continued. It's the thing that Donald Trump is doing the worst on in all the polling. When you go

issue by issue, his lowest approval ratings come on cost of living. And that's because people

still feel very squeezed. And housing is one place where it's clear. Groceries remain quite

elevated, particularly things that are subject to tariffs.

There's two issues that I think are sleeper issues, and they both relate to climate change.

So one of them is insurance.

We're seeing insurance costs go up.
