What's going on everyone? Welcome back to the podcast. We have Riley Brock from

Imperfect foods back on the show. They're a grocery delivery service that is

focused on building a better food system and one that I've really been enjoying especially as I just move into the new house and my gardens aren't throwing out as much produce as I would want. I'm actually still waiting to build new gardens and we're moving out of summer so it's been a nice supplement.

Riley we could maybe go a little bit deeper I mean I remember I was probably 12 or

13 at the time but I remember during the first dot-com boom this was already trying to be a thing and then it failed and now it seems like it's come back but at least in my mind you know you think of like a whole Foods delivery or if you get someone from

Instacart to come to go to the store and then come to you it just feels like it's a

little out of reach for most people and so I'm curious you know you guys are

definitely taking a different approach.

Yeah absolutely and you you you guys are definitely taking a different approach. Yeah, absolutely.

You bring up a great point that for a really long time,

grocery delivery has been kind of for other people.

You know, it's been either prohibitively expensive

prohibitively complicated or not available in your metro area I think you know in the past

like five years it this has really changed I think grocery delivery is really poised to become the next way people get groceries. You know people are increasingly I mean people were already shopping online for everything except groceries before COVID and I think COVID was really the little pebble that started the

avalanche in terms of people realizing that hey there are real benefits to getting groceries online

and this isn't actually just for you know people that have loads

and loads of money to throw at shopping because you know in terms of our

model like we're really trying to do things differently because up until recently if yeah like to your point
