Summary

Part one of THE DYATLOV PASS INCIDENT: A COLD WAR TRAGEDY deals with one of the greatest unsolved wilderness mysteries known- the mysterious and violent deaths of 9 members of a Russian ski group in the Ural Mountain wilderness in February of 1959. In part one provide the background and explore the characters of the young men and women who died outside their tent in various stages of dress- lacking enough clothing to protect them in sub zero weather- all because they were forced by what looks like great fear to leave their tent at night with no time for preparation. Autopsies showed that many bore defensive bruises, and some had multiple broken ribs, eyeballs and tongues missing, and crushed skulls. Many showed radiation burns. Theories range from a killer yeti to fireballs to Russian KGB to a nuclear weapon. We'll present our theory in part two.
