Today's 10-minute walk is helping you keep your fitness promise, which will add another link to your

growing fitness chain. I'm out early before sunrise, and there's just not a whole lot going on

around me. I don't hear any birds.

And there's really not a whole lot of traffic.

So this is one of those walks that I'm out pretty early and awake before a lot of others, including nature.

I have great admiration and respect for the guy who lives across the street from me.

So he goes out for two walks every day.

He goes out for a walk in the morning around 7.30.

And then he goes out for a second walk in the afternoon around 1230. The morning

walk is much longer. And I'm guessing that it's probably two or three miles. It takes him about an

hour to do that route. His walk in the afternoon is shorter. I'm guessing, maybe a mile long.

But he is out there taking those two walks every single day, regardless of the weather.

In the heat of summer, and I mean on days this past summer when we had a heat index

close to 120, he was out. Taking that afternoon walk, he was out. When it gets windy and cold and

rainy, he's out. He has missed his walks on several occasions because he was in the hospital.

My neighbor has back issues and several times his back has gone out. Really painful. I feel

really bad for him and he actually had to call the ambulance,

his wife called the ambulance, to take him to the hospital to get that treated.

A couple of those times, his recovery was weeks long.

There was one time he was out walking like the next day.

They took him to the hospital.

They treated him.
