Hello and welcome to Byron York Show. There are no chipchat podcasts. We'd like to get right

into it and what we're going to get into today is an update on Jim Crow 2.0. You may remember

a big controversy last year going into this year about President Biden and many members

of his party claiming that Republicans were involved in voter suppression in Georgia.

Well, we have an update to do on that. So let's get started. Early voting, you probably know,

is underway in Georgia. Start about six days ago. There is, of course, intense interest in the state

Senate race. That's with Herschel Walker, the University of Georgia football legend. I mean,

I know he played pro football, but in Georgia, it's the University of Georgia football legend,

Herschel Walker. He's challenging Senator Raphael Warnock, the Democrat. And the governor's race,

of course, is between Brian Kemp, the governor and Stacey Abrams, the Democratic challenger.

Now, Kemp is going to win, but the Senate contest is really close. It's essentially tied.

The outcome might, might decide which party controls the Senate. I just don't know right now. So

anyway, early voting has started. So how intense is early voting in Georgia? Just look at the turnout.

People are early voting in droves, record numbers of people more than ever in a midterm election.

The evidence for this comes from the Georgia Secretary of State's office. I'm going to read to

you from a new press release after the weekend early voting, quote, Georgia voters shatter

second presidential turnout record on Saturday. In other words, more people are voting in the midterm
