The picture behind me is often in the study of Acts

is kind of an indication of where this part of the story is happening.

The story in front of us today happens with Paul the Apostle as he's in Cessori.

Now he's back in the land of Israel from his third missionary journey.

And he's in Cessori. And there's a little thing that happens

there that's, you know, we're going to note and study. But behind me is one of the ancient

2,000-year-old aqueducts of the Roman Empire that flowed into Sassaria. You can go visit this.

This is a picture we took. It's a beautiful spot there on the Mediterranean Sea, and it's really

just about a half a mile from where this story took place here in Acts chapter 21. We begin in

Acts 21, verse 10. It says, and as we tarried there many days, there came down from Judea, a certain prophet named Agabus.

And when he was come unto us, he took Paul's girdle and bound his own hands and feet,

and said, Thus saith the Holy Ghost, so shall the Jews at Jerusalem bind the man that owneth this girdle

and shall deliver him into the hands of the Gentiles.

And when we heard these things, both we and they of that place,

besought him not to go up to Jerusalem.

Then Paul answered,

What mean ye to weep and to break mine heart?

For I am ready not to be bound only,

but also to die at Jerusalem for the name of the Lord Jesus.

And when he would not be persuaded, we ceased,

saying the will of the Lord be done.

Strange little story. They're just all hanging out, Christians who love Paul. Agabas comes and gives a word of prophecy, and he grabs Paul's, well, the King James says girdle. You're like,
