A few years back, November 2014, I think it was.

I was in a leisure centre, in Rochester,

reporting on a bi-election.

That was my life back then.

I was tapping away at my iPad, a script for the midnight news.

When a woman wearing a sweatshirt came into view and asked for a selfie,

I explained I simply hadn't got time for a photo.

She persisted and I said, look, I won't chat if you don't mind.

I'm on deadline and I stood up and had the picture taken.

I should have asked who she was, maybe I should have known.

And only later did I discover that the woman in question

was the deputy leader of Britain first, a candidate in that bi-election.

I couldn't regret it more.

Donald Trump comes under attack for sharing inflammatory videos

President Trump has used his Twitter account to share inflammatory videos

which were posted online by the deputy leader of the far-right group Britain first.

The footage reports the show Muslims Committee acts of violence.

Danny Street has condemned the move, the president has been accused here

and in the States, as spreading hatred.

The tweets have been welcomed though by the former leader of the Ku Klux Klan.
