You meet party strategies who want to be Malcolm Tucker.

I have to explain.

But don't you see in each episode, things get worse when a Malcolm turns up.

You don't notice that.

If like me, you love the thick of it.

It's hard to see a screwed up photo opportunity

or a hopeless interview without imagining what Malcolm Tucker would say.

When I watch Philip Hammond this week on Andrew Mars Red Sofa,

I had him in my head.
