You know, last week I started off, I think I said a little later in the episode that that was

like a YOLO episode, right?

Kind of, you know, Howard Beal, you know, screaming out the window and I did the

introduction of the lead-in monologue about the federal judiciary that they've let us down. And as you may know just this week, we

finally got that decision from the DC circuit about Donald Trump's claim of absolute post presidential immunity.

And they said, as we expected, and we expected this is the final result, how exactly we would get there

was a little unclear. As expected, that no, you do not have immunity once you're no longer president. And there's some additional details to

how that decision came down. There's a lot. The decision they rendered

was not only right on the merits, right on the final outcome, which I don't think that was never really in doubt.

It was also a very lengthy and detailed decision.

And you've even seen a number of lawyers saying,

you know, it's like a historic decision,

not just because it addresses an issue that frankly no one to this point was absurd enough to think needed to be addressed but as long as we're living in the Trump era as long it's good to get it out of the way right our

ex-presidents permanently immune but in any case it's it a lot of people have said wow

this is a really really good decision kind of brings in all the language stuff all the history stuff, you know, name checks repeatedly the conservative members of the Supreme Court who might be inclined to say otherwise.
