Hello, my friends. Welcome back to the Morning Mindset. I hope you're ready to get your mind aligned with the truth of God.

And I want to ask you to do a favor which will pause this episode right now in using the texting function or email function on your phone.

0:19.0

Tell somebody specific about the morning mindset. Someone you know could use the kind of encouragement you're receiving every day.

0:28.0

That's how the Word of God spreads friends. It's through sharing it with other people. Would you pause and would you do that right now? Thank you so much.

0:37.0

Or today we're looking at Proverbs 19 verse 19 about the cycle of anger.

0:45.0

Let's read the verse and then we'll come back and we'll talk about it. It says, a man of great wrath will pay the penalty.

0:53.0

For if you deliver him, you will only have to do it again. Now that phrase, great wrath may not initially mean anger to you when you first hear it.

1:05.0

But because of the context, I kind of get the idea that he's talking about a person who responds with great anger to things.

1:13.0

Because he says, first off, he will pay the penalty. So this is a negative thing. This is a thing that is happening that has a negative consequence.

1:23.0

Okay. Wrath in general is not that sometimes we are wrath or angry about things because of an injustice that's been done. And that sort of wrath is not a sinful thing.

1:34.0

And so this nuance and how it has said makes me think he's talking about a person who is just an angry person and they kind of fly off the handle at things quite often.

1:43.0

Now look at the next phrase, this is what's very instructive to me because he's really speaking to people who don't have the anger problem.

1:52.0

He's speaking to them about their response to the angry person. He says, if you deliver him, now who's him? It's the one who has the anger problem.

2:00.0

If you deliver him, you will only have to do it again.

2:05.0

Now think about that. He's talking about a person who gets angry and by their anger, they get themselves into some kind of trouble or some kind of difficult situation.

2:15.0

And then he turns and he looks to those of us who are watching or maybe interacting with the angry person.

2:22.0

And he's saying, if you step in and help resolve this situation for this angry person, it's not going to help anything.

2:30.0

You're only going to have to do it again sometime in the future because they're not going to learn from that circumstance that the anger that they have in that situation is being expressed wrongly or is causing damage or is bringing about a negative result, whatever the case may be.

2:50.0

You see, we only learn our lessons when we are made to learn those lessons by the results of our actions.

2:59.0

And what Solomon is saying here is that that person who has the anger problem, you know, they're going to pay the penalty.

3:08.0

But only if you let them, only if you and I who are the ones interacting with them in the situation, let their anger take its course and reach its final conclusion.

3:22.0

Now let me pause for a moment and make it a little disclaimer here.
