| 0:01.2 | Welcome back to the Jeremy Scott Fitness Podcast, everybody with show. |
| 0:03.3 | Coming to you real quick on this Thursday as I'm still on island time here. Hopefully you're having an amazing Thursday wherever you are at. And for aside, I know, Hawaii is tough to beat. If you've never been, I would highly suggest it. If it's your first time, I'd probably say go with Maui. That's probably the safe bet. Kawai is amazing too for first timers, but I would say probably Maui would be your first feel for the island. I've been to all of them at this point. I'm very lucky, very blessed, which brings me to the point of obviously today's podcast as I finished my workout. I head to the beach here. I'm sitting in a chair just enjoying the breeze and the ocean, the smell. You can see the palm trees kind of moving in the wind. It literally reminds you of like the corona commercials. It's literally just like that, except it's better when you're actually here in person. And Hawaii probably is our favorite place of all the places to be in the States for sure, and probably our favorite place in the world. And I've been fortunate enough to be all over the planet and it really is tough to beat and the fact that it is you know |
| 0:58.2 | technically still America um it makes it very easy to get in and get out of and it's it's easy to |
| 1:02.9 | drive it's easy to navigate it's just a it's an amazing experience but as I'm sitting there |
| 1:06.9 | in my uh you know beach chair just hanging, letting the breeze hit my face, getting, |
| 1:12.7 | you know, sunburned on my very pale, naturally Midwestern skin. I thought to myself, you know, |
| 1:19.2 | how the fuck did I end up here? In all reality, and I think that, because I think I'm always |
| 1:23.4 | going to think of myself as the broke, you know, nine-year-old kid in the world that I grew up in. |
| 1:29.1 | And, you know, I thought to myself, when was the first time I ever even saw the ocean? |
| 1:33.3 | And I was 14 years old, I believe. |
| 1:36.7 | I was looking at to play in a very talented basketball team. |
| 1:41.4 | Our AEU team made the national championships in Cocoa Beach, Florida. That was the first time I was an airplane at 14. That was the first time that I saw the ocean at 14 years old. And then I thought to myself, that was an great experience and I'll remember it forever. You know, played with a bunch of rock stars. It was awesome. You realize at 14 that some kids are way better at basketball than you. |
| 2:01.7 | And we were good. Don't get me wrong, but I'm watching kids just dunk it like it's nothing at |
| 2:06.1 | 14. I'm like, well, shit, I can't do that. These guys aren't like me. Side note. And I thought to myself, |
| 2:12.2 | when is the next time I saw the ocean? And that was when I was in college, funny enough, coming to |
| 2:16.6 | Hawaii. We also played in a basketball tournament here. My college team came out and we played. And that was the second time, I believe, I probably saw the ocean. And the second time I was on a flight. And that was, you know, I probably was at 20 years old at the time. So, needless to say, my travel experience in a young part of my life was very |
| 2:35.0 | limited. Now, flash forward now, I've been to Hawaii probably six or seven times, very lucky, |
| 2:39.8 | very blessed, and I have so much gratitude for it and so much perspective, and I realize, you know, |
| 2:44.8 | I'm a very lucky individual to be here. I've worked for it. You know, I've killed myself to get to |
| 2:50.0 | this point. But even with that said, |
| 2:51.5 | a lot of people work really hard and don't get to do all the cool fun shit that I get to do. |
