Is the ceasefire between the U.S. and Iran over? That was the major question put to chairman

of the Joint Chiefs of Staff General Dan Kane and Defense Secretary Pete Hegeset at a news conference this morning.

No, the ceasefire is not over. Ultimately, this is a separate, a distinct project.

And we expected there would be some churn at the beginning, which happened.

General Kane expanded on that churn, saying Iran has attacked U.S. forces more than 10 times

since the ceasefire went into effect,

but he said it does not reach the level of resuming major combat operations.

The threshold of restarting is a political decision above my pay grade.

What I'll say is it's low harassing fire right now.

It feels like Iran is grasping its straws.

Iran also attacked the United Arab Emirates yesterday for the first time in weeks.

The country has partially closed its airspace in response. Iran's foreign ministry spokesperson

told state television press TV that any attacks on regional countries are done in self-defense.

Racist today in Indiana and Ohio could test President Trump's influence on the Republican Party. In Indiana, Trump is backing efforts to unseat several state Senate Republicans who opposed his push to redraw the state's congressional maps.
