Today's guest is Miriam Romase, the executive director of Enfoco, a nonprofit organization

that supports contemporary fine art and documentary photographers of Latino, African, Asian, and Native American heritage.

It was started 35 years ago in the Bronx by a group of Puerto Rican photographers to serve as an outlet for work that was being too easily overlooked by the mainstream art world.

As well as her work within Focco, Miriam is also a photographer and curator. Her own work

has been published and exhibited in numerous galleries and museums throughout the country.

Some of her work is focused on her other passion, motorcycling. The life of a photographer

often occurs in a space of isolation or even obscurity.

But the work of Miriam and her team at Enfoco provides an important means for great work to be discovered, nurtured, and shared.
