What's going on everyone? Welcome back to the Epic Gardening Podcast. Today we are talking with actually today and for the next five days we are talking with Michael Bell who is a teacher in Texas also happens to be an amateur competitive bodybuilder, he's

so without further ado we're gonna get into part one of the series, which is just getting into how and why he started an urban farm, because it's actually a bit different than most people's stories.

Oh man, so I think we should start out

by just talking about how and why you started an urban farm

because you're a bit of an unlikely type of person

that would do that, at least just looking at you.

Right. Yeah I'm a competitive bodybuilder on the side. I'm a full-time teacher and then I compete in bodybuilding.

I'm like 510, about 265 pounds, so not your normal farmer or gardener that you see, but I've always loved to garden. I had a garden since I was

four with my grandma in the backyard. Had it all the way through high school, had a little

bit in college, moved to the Dallas area, had a patio because I lived in an apartment so I had a bunch of

pots growing stuff. It's just something I've always loved. And then we moved to a house,

had a backyard garden, and about a year and a half ago, I'm addicted to YouTube.

I listened to YouTube, went the job to work, working.

I love it. I've learned so much from it and I've stumbled across this

guy named Gary Boehner Chuck. I don't know if you know who he is or not.

Yeah, I do. So I actually used to be in the marketing world and so I've crossed paths with him more than a few times.
