Today's 10-minute walk is helping both of us stay fitness consistent.

I want to read a comment that was left on one of the Walking-Hus Fitness YouTube videos.

I live on a wildlife estate in South Africa near Kruger.

I walk three and a half miles a day with giraffe, zebra, water buck, cadu, warthogs, and thousands of birds.

I read that comment several times and was just trying to engage my imagination.

What must that be like?

To be walking along and off in the distance, there's a giraffe, or maybe several.

And then I turn in this direction and there's some zebra.

Thousands of birds flying overhead, resting in trees, making birdsong. It sounds glorious.

And I certainly get the impression from the person who left the comment

that they recognize that it is glorious. Blessed, they write.

And then I got to thinking about my walk. Now, I don't have giraffe. I don't have zebra.

I don't have thousands of birds, although there's probably far more than I recognize.

And yet I take for granted where I walk. I take for granted where I walk.

I take for granted the blessing of walking,

of what surrounds me while I'm walking.

And I recognize, I recognize that where you're walking, your biggest concern is safety.

The idea of walking in nature, as amazing as the sounds, is so far from your reality.

Or maybe it's not necessarily safety,

it's just where you walk isn't very pretty.
