So let's begin with what you call the second greatest crisis in the Catholic Church. You say that

the decline in church going among Catholics is the emptying of the pews being the bitter fruit

of the dumbing down of our faith. Can you explain that? Yeah, it's at least one reason for it. So I've been tracing this for a long time.

I say the second greatest problem, because the first one is the sex abuse crisis.

But number two is this rather massive attrition of our own people, especially the young.

And there are a lot of causes for it.

But a primary one, I think, is the dumbing down that's happened.
