| 0:50.0 | And in today's podcast episode, I want to talk about a misconception because it really wasn't until I came face to face with this misconception in regards to anxiety that I actually started to heal. |
| 1:07.0 | I want to go deep into it. All right. |
| 1:10.0 | The misconception is that anxiety is solely a mental health problem, which moves us into thinking we must mentally change things in order to create physiological change. |
| 1:26.0 | Anxiety, honestly, my friends, to me is a physiological condition that demands physiological changes in order to alter our mental habits. |
| 1:41.0 | It's much easier to change the mind through the body than it is to change the body through the mind. That's what I've found. |
| 1:50.0 | And the longer we play this mental tug of war with the 95% of us that dictates our perceptions and behaviors known as the subconscious mind or inner child, the crazier we will feel, and the deeper within anxiety we will go. |
| 2:12.0 | Let's take positive thinking, for instance, a very popular niche, a popular idea today, thinking positive. And let's connect this to anxiety healing. |
| 2:26.0 | Positive thinking is great for stress, but I believe it's almost useless as a solution for anxiety because it forces change upon the subconscious mind which then creates resistance, therefore more tension and rigidity. |
| 2:45.0 | I'm actually a huge fan of positive thinking, just not for a chronically fatigued anxiety sufferer. |
| 2:55.0 | Okay, now don't get me wrong. Sometimes the 5% conscious mind can affect the 95% subconscious mind, given enough evidence and emotion to support the new thought that defies the irrational fear. |
| 3:12.0 | However, in most cases, the progress that's being made is short lived. If the body isn't involved and cooperating with the change of thought, this is huge, my friends, the cooperation of the body along with the thought. |
| 3:33.0 | The biggest missing component in anxiety healing known to men today is the body's involvement in the healing process. |
| 3:44.0 | In today's episode, I don't have time to go into the details over how to do this. Head over to YouTube and look up my somatic engagement videos, in connection with anxiety recovery, things I do in the morning, morning routines, energetic healing, that sort of thing. |
| 4:03.0 | Instead, your responsibility today is to acknowledge the need to use the body as the first and most important pillar in pretty much all the change work you do from trauma work to imagery and exposure work. |
| 4:24.0 | When I speak of exposure work, yes, we are bringing the body with us to reveal the safety of any given situation, but the question is this, are we taking control of the body or is the body controlling us? That's it. |
| 4:42.0 | That's all you need to hear from me today on this episode of the anxiety guide podcast, because it's enough for you to understand the power in having the body's involvement in any kind of change work that you're doing. |
