First of all, happy new year, hope your holidays were good.

Last year, one of our most listened two episodes focused on the best music you didn't hear in 2021.

And I think we're going to make it an annual tradition.

Today I have part one of a look at some of the best music you probably didn't hear in

2022.

We'll be doing more genres going forward probably next week. probably

next week, but today we're going through country and Americana,

Afropop and medal.

Needless to say, a very wide-ranging episode today.

I learned a lot from going through our lists and talking to my colleagues and hopefully you will too.

Melissa Carper rambling soul the stuff I listen to from this album has almost a 50s

Western swing vibe to it.

Absolutely, yeah. This is vintage retro-sounding

folk and country music.

A lot of times artists shy away from that tag retro or vintage right throwback.

Melissa Carper fully leans into it and she does it with great a plumb.

She's 50 years old so she is looking back on some stuff that she heard when she was younger and then incorporating it for today.

I think a great song to listen to that would be the rockabilly sounding 1980 Dodge Van.
