Hello everyone and welcome to police off the cuff, real crime stories.

I'm your host, retired NYPD Sergeant Bill Cannon, a 27-year veteran of the NYPD,

and a sort of event-packed weekend for me on a personal level.

My son, Jake got married.

I'll put a quick picture up on the screen.

There he is in the middle there.

It was very emotional.

He's our first son.

My other son is all the way to the left.

His name is Casey.

He's the older guy. but Jake got married first,

so we had a wonderful time, but it's pretty emotional, and I was going to stay off the air for a while,

but I drew me back in today once I returned home. Thank you guys for all your support. I really

appreciate all of you. I just want to mention this case we're covering today, Madeline Soto. It's so, so horrific. You know, these missing children cases are just there. You can't understand that it's so horrible. Hard to understand, hard to fathom how someone can hurt a child like this.

But to me, it's so heroic law enforcement that they did such an unbelievable job here.

And they're still, they're not finished. They're still, of course, working on this case. And having a suspect under arrest so

quickly, and no doubt, no doubt this Stephen, Stefan, Stearns, who was the mother's boyfriend,

the mother, Jennifer Soto. He is undoubtedly going to be arrested for the murder. However, at this point, they have great

charges through their investigation that they were able to put together in order to hold him.

And that's what those charges are right now. They know he's going to be charged with the murder.

But right now they're going to keep him in jail until they slapped these new charges on him.
