members of the center left have taken control of the apparatus of the media, apparently,

certainly the White House and the Congress. That is a very good evening to you. I tell the story

because your column reminds me of how in the first days of the pandemic shutdown of Manhattan,

I would walk by myself from Grand Central Station, East 44th Street, down Madison Avenue to 34th

Street and then over to Pennsylvania Station where my radio station was in those days.

And I passed on the first day of the complete shutdown by myself. There was nobody else on the

street. There were no cars on the street. Madison Avenue was empty. I passed a open door of an

episcopal church. I believed 35th in Madison. I haven't checked the map. And I looked inside and

said, you know it's a good time to say prayer because we don't know what's going to happen today.

The information was very incomplete about the pandemic. So I went in and sat down and I noticed

it was one other person in a pew somewhat forward of me. And it was very well, it was lightly lit.

It was a good place for contemplation. I said a prayer for all of us. And I did that the second day

as well. But then because it became a habit of mine, I was very disappointed. I think that week,
