Firstly, I just want to thank you for taking the time to listen to this podcast today.

Whether you are out for a run, driving in the car, doing chores, or just sitting relaxing,

I know there's so many different things you could be listening to,

or maybe not listening to if you need some peace and quiet. But either way, I'm so thankful you're

choosing to listen to our podcast. The Chicago Marathon, one of the six Marathon majors that almost

every marathon runner wants to compete during their running career. It's one of the fastest

and most recognized marathon races in the world.

It is one to watch every year.

Last year I was given the opportunity to race in it as an elite,

and while I was in the elevator a few days before the

race I met the driving force behind it race director Carrie Pincowski

someone who had so much to do has has so much responsibility, took the time to talk to a nervous,

overwhelmed British woman to reassure her that she did belong to be there.

Kerry has been the race director for the Chicago Marathon for 26 years.

You can only imagine how many people he has met during that time, how many hands he is shaken,

yet he is the most down-to-earth earth fun genuine guy you could meet. He just
