Jake, what's our topic today?

Well, I want to ask you guys, have you ever seen someone with incredible art skills, but

they still like struggle to pay rent?

And conversely, do you ever see people who are not like stellar talents, not amazing

talents, but they have, obviously they have art skills, they're somewhat average, but they're

killing it with their art business.

It happens all the time, right?

Yeah, there's a big disparity there, isn't there?

Right. So that's what I want to talk about today. It's like why is one artist succeeding when another artist isn't?

And I want to start with story time. So you guys could just sit back

and listen to the story. It's kind of rhetorical. And you listeners too, let me ask you this.

Or let me outline this. So meet, and these are just names I made up, meet Riley. Riley's art is

incredible, the kind of work

that stops you mid-scroll. They're imaginative. They're expressive. Their art is technically

jaw-dropping. And they've got a decent Instagram following, and a few of their pieces or their

reels actually go viral, right? So an art director stumbles across Riley's work

while scouting for talent for like an illustration project, like a picture book or something,
