I'm Lee White. And I'm Samantha Caudrill, and let's jump into it. All right. So this topic, Lee and I were talking last night, what we should talk about today.

And he threw out this banger of an idea, and that is what are things that pros do that

amateurs don't do, right?

And so I thought that was really good. He threw out a couple of

ideas and I thought, well, I could, I could definitely think of a few of those. Sam's got a few of them.

And so I think we're just going to one by one kind of share some of these ideas, uh, riff off of

them, talk about them. Because the, the whole purpose of this episode is to take

those of you listening to it who are just run the gamut from complete amateur to actual

total professional, award-winning professional, and see if there's anything you could do to sort of improve the

professionality of what you do as an illustrator. So that's our hope today is to get

into that. So I'm going to turn it over to Lee. You do, you go ahead and do your first one,

the one that you told me last night, and we'll talk about that.

I got two of them, but so I'll dive into the first one.

The one, one of the biggest things that I've seen in terms of the difference between pros and

amateurs is sometimes there's this weird, and I don't know if it comes from sort of massed

insecurity, but this

reluctance to put yourself in the role of a beginner from amateurs that I see constantly

in professionals. And an example of that is I was talking to an illustrator friend of mine

the other day, very, very, very well known, very successful in his own right, definitely top of the field, was saying that I want to take some classes and learn some stuff that he, and this is in the medium that he's already good at.

And I was like, man, that is the coolest thing ever,

that he's just like basically saying, hey, I got a lot to learn. I can learn from anyone. And I'm
