Summary

Advent is a low point spiritually for most Christian leaders. We are told that told Christmas is the time to get as many people as possible to the church, to close the financial year strong, to thank all our leaders, and to model reaching out to our neighbors for Christ. The problem is that in the process we lose the wonder and beauty of celebrating God’s coming in Jesus of Nazareth. This podcast talks about the top 4 Christmas killers and what we can do to resist them.

0:12.6	Who knows, I may improve the title after I finish, but the four things that kill Christmas for us.
0:19.4	And really, what comes out of this, how do I live this in an emotionally
0:22.1	healthy way? How do I lead for Jesus at an intense time like Christmas? So because Advent,
0:29.1	or the weeks before Christmas is generally a very low point spiritually for most Christian leaders.
0:35.2	And I know it was for me for many, many years.
0:38.1	And I hope you're aware, you're probably one of the many, many listeners who regularly
0:41.6	are tuning in here to this podcast. But we're creating a culture. What I'm doing is I'm dropping
0:48.0	a vision and a way of thinking in life about how might I do church culture and leadership culture
0:57.3	differently. But you really have to experience it a new kind of culture. And while this is giving
1:03.8	you a taste, we realize that people need an experience of what that looks like. So we've actually
1:10.7	launched an emotionally healthy leadership day for this purpose.
1:13.6	And actually this February 7th, we're going to have our first one,
1:16.6	where leaders from around the country are coming into New York City to be with our team
1:20.6	and hear about what are the keys and experience,
1:23.6	real church transformation and personal transformation.
1:26.6	And the best way is to taste it and see a new way of being with Jesus and a new way to lead.
