So today, we've got myself, Artie and Phil, on Mike, and we have two topics that we're

discussing in tandem, which are things that we've actually gotten a lot of recent requests

to weigh in on.

One is the Cochrane Review of masking, which has resulted in a

slate of media coverage saying, look, we told you masks don't work. And the other is the reemergence

of lab leak discourse via some reporting on unnamed sources at the U.S. Department of Energy who have

said that, you know, they have a low confidence conclusion

that COVID originated in a lab. So more so than talking about these specific media stories

themselves, we really wanted to talk about the bigger question here, which is, you know,

what does it mean that these lines have reemerged into prominence who brought them into prominence?

The bigger conversation here is really about what we choose to believe about COVID and why,

what gets amplified and repeated, and also the role of, you know, certain persistent cranks

in the ongoing knowledge production of sort of what the common sense on COVID is.

Right, especially institutionally accred on COVID is. Right.
