Today we've got a really fun episode for you. We're going to do a deep dive on the privatization

of Medicare, which is something that's been steadily happening for a couple of decades now.

Yeah, I think, so this is something that I would say is probably part of,

we could call this like part three of our death panel history of healthcare in the US

or socialized medicine or whatever series.

We had relatively recently, actually, we unlocked in the public feed, the death panel

history of Medicare, which is kind of the last one that we did. We also did an episode called

Death Panel History of Socialized Medicine, which is about kind of like the earlier,

earlier in the 20th century and like the initial, some of like the initial fights over what would

sort of become Medicare. But sort of,

if you recall where we last left off, one of the reasons I think to talk about this is, so we're

going to talk about like, as we mentioned, this category of Medicare plan, which is Medicare

Advantage, which is a privatized form of Medicare, which has become, I think, it's now like 42% of all Medicare plans,

which means that now basically, you know, I think a lot of people don't, obviously, yeah,

a lot of people think about Medicare and a lot of people know something about Medicare,

but I think a lot of people don't even, I mean, in general, like generally speaking to like

the public or whatever, do not necessarily, in general, like, generally speaking to, like, put the public or whatever,

do not necessarily know that Medicare includes this gigantic private component and one that is

hugely growing. Like, I think the standard history of Medicare is that, like, in the 60s,

Democrats did this, like, incredible, perfect forward forward looking thing, right?
