Hello everyone, welcome to the Tax Byte podcast series. My name is Peter and I'm very pleased today

that I can introduce you a number of experts that will talk about the 2021 outlook. What will the

new year bring? After a long year with a lot of challenges and a lot of

tax developments as well, as you have been able to listen to in our podcast series, we look

ahead at a new year with a lot of new upcoming developments and challenges. And I have with me

today a group of experts who will share their view and their perspective on these developments.

First of all, I have Alan Cortfried with me.

Alan is our Brussels-based head of e-invoicing and e-reporting Center of Excellence.

We have furthermore, Jean-Filippe Van West.

He is an EU tax law expert in our team. And we have Jill Fransson, who is

a trans-pricing expert, but has a dedicated focus on the recent OECD and case law developments.

So let's kick off because we have a lot of topics we want to talk about, I think, in this podcast.

And first I want to start with you,

Jean-Philippe. So 2020 was, as I said, a very interesting year also for you. And you finalized your PhD. It was published. Congratulations with that again. And now we are also looking ahead

at some new interesting developments.

From an EU law perspective, Jean-Philippe, what is coming towards us?

Well, thank you, Peter.

2021 will, according to me, a very important year for Europe.

And I expect several new legislative initiatives and other important developments

in the area of taxation. In particular, regarding the following four topics. First, we have

taxing the digital economy. Second, further increased tax transparency. Third, fair taxation and tax competition.

And last, as well, there will be an increasing focus on green taxation.
