Taran Rosenthal, founder of Flying Needle Acupuncture, reunites with J after 28 years to talk about Chinese medicine and relational healing practices. They discuss the self-discovery through dance they shared in NYC, Taran's move west and subsequent foray into Brazilian spirituality, his realization that he needed to change his career and transition to Chinese medicine, the spectrum of hands-on to hands-off interventions, taking 'things' to a nonverbal space, and improvisatory co-creative dances of human exchange that ease suffering.

Feels like old times for me, y'all, this week.

You see, for many years, I recorded these intros and outros at the same time every week.

Late night on either Friday or Saturday night. I try to do it on Friday, but sometimes

I'd be a little too tired, and I would do it on Saturday. Longtime listeners might remember,

I used to talk about that all the time. It's late, and I got to get this done, right? Well, some

while back, but I decided that recording the intros and outros late at night was maybe not the best idea.

I just felt like sometimes I was a little loopy and the intros and outos were a little fast and loose, if you know what I mean.

So I started recording on Sunday morning or afternoon instead

when my energy feels a lot more clear. But not this week. It is late night on Saturday,

just like old times.

The reason being that tomorrow is my wife Audrey's birthday.

And me and my two daughters decided that because my wife basically does everything for all of us in this house all year round,

that tomorrow on her birthday, we are going to do everything for her.

So we're going to make her breakfast lunch and dinner and clean,

and she gets to do whatever she wants.

We are going to pamper her on her birthday, and I need to be available for that.

So we got to make this happen now.
