Hey, everyone. Welcome back to the busy mom podcast. My name is Heidi St. John, and I'm here with my friend, Durenda Wilson. She also writes with me over at the busy mom. And between the two of us, we have what, 15 children,

0:24.0

for some ridiculous number of children. And it's really our heart to encourage you in your role

0:29.8

as a mom. And I have been thinking about this topic for a long time. I've written about it a few

0:35.4

times over at the busy mom blog. And today,

0:38.5

we're going to kind of pick up the conversation that we had the other day about adolescence

0:43.5

and especially, you know, coming into the teen years and what exactly you can look forward to

0:49.2

and what you should be dreading. And today, we're going to pick it up with assuming that we're sort of into adolescence

0:58.6

now and your kids are noticing changes in their bodies, things are happening.

1:02.3

And I thought, you know, this is a good time for us to talk about when to talk to your

1:08.3

kids about sex.

1:09.3

Because you know what?

As I'm sitting here, I'm actually thinking out loud as I'm processed in this in my head it doesn't the talk in this day and age I think

1:18.9

probably needs to happen sooner because of all the things that our kids are exposed to and I I think

1:25.6

for us for my daughter you know she was in public school for the first,

1:30.6

I think, two years of school for first and second grade she went to a public school. And boy,

1:35.9

she got an earful in school. And I ended up having to have, you know, the talk with her when she was

1:42.4

very young, much younger than her sister.

1:45.3

And it was because of what she was exposed to. And so before we really, you know, dig into this topic or dive into it, I want to encourage you that I'm not trying to give you a formula for how to raise your kids. I think that's

2:01.7

what makes this topic so tricky because every kid is different. You know, my seven-year-old

2:06.5

child's sensibilities and sensitivities to this topic are going to be different than yours

2:10.8

and shoot fire if we don't need to hear from the Lord. Right. You know, I don't know how people

2:16.7

parent their kids without the Lord. And. You know, I don't know how people parent their kids. I don't either. Without the Lord.
