Welcome back to another Cesquipedalian episode of Talking Lamar. Today, I'm talking about being

raised with a big brother and some uncles and managing to live to tell about it. Let's get to it.

I don't think it's just me. I think it's all of us. But when I was very small, the world looked really, really big.

And we lived on about 110 acres, and probably 90 of those acres were on the side of the road across from our trailer.

And that's where we kept the cows and all that stuff.

And way back in the pasture on the right hand side of the property, there's a ravine.

And at that point in time, the ravine was about 20 feet deep and along the bottom,

there was huge pools that had formed over the years and they constantly held water. And so if you got down in the ravine, which you should do this all the time, I would go from the top

all the way down to the bottom. And to get past them, you had to like put your hands on one wall

and your feet on the other wall because it was narrow and you had to suspend yourself over the pool

because they were too big to cross. And, you know, at that point in time in

my life, I felt like one slip and I'm sure that I would die. And I had all kinds of things going on.

I mean, in the woods. I mean, it was just me and I'm pretending this is happening and that's happening.

And everything was just wide open and so 30 years

later I walked the property with my brother Troy and it turns out that 20 foot ravine was actually

a ditch about six foot okay and those huge pools were like little puddles.

But, you know, when you're nine and you're out in the woods playing adventurer

and you're being chased by who knows what, you're risking certain death or at least
