Christian colleges and universities attempt to approximate the college experience without allowing the students to change beyond what their evangelical mommy and daddy might approve of. Instead of having a kegger, they have a root beer kegger. True story. I've been to those. Instead of co-ed housing, they have gender segregated housing with a curfew. And instead of free inquiry, they have statements of faith and

lifestyle expectations. These are institutions which allow Christian teenagers and young adults to

avoid the challenges of their faith that they would experience just by being exposed to different

people and backgrounds and ideologies. And they infantilize them by telling them how to live

and restricting what they're allowed to talk about.

Their Christian boarding schools which play at academia while ensuring pro-Christian anti-intellectualism survives into the next generation.

Anyway, so yeah, what was your, you know, talking about Christian colleges and universities for me is just a really interesting topic. It's a wide world. And when we're thinking about like, what can we kick off talking about this week? For me, it's it's such a broad question. But also there's so much dysfunction in Christian higher

education in so many ways. And background wise, like, I have a bachelor's and master's degree

from a Christian university, two different ones. So what are your thoughts

kind of generally kicking off this topic? Well, my thoughts are that I am apt to speak about this

today. I have an undergraduate degree from a Christian university. I work at a Christian university,
