I'd like to take a minute to step back from talking to you as Drew the host and talk to you for a second just as Drew the person, to just be totally real for a moment.

1:54.4

It'd be, well, totally irresponsible, really, to not acknowledge it.

2:01.0

When you've got a public voice reaching thousands of ears every week, like we do on this

2:06.9

podcast, I feel it's our responsibility to use that voice to defend what's right and just.

2:14.9

And while our main purpose as a fiction podcast is to offer up dark tales to add a little

2:20.4

entertainment to your life, and maybe even a distraction from the troubles of everyday life,

2:26.0

2:33.3

irresponsible of us to not use our voice to speak up against

oppression, violence, and intolerance. Silence isn't an option. Black lives matter. Diversity matters.

2:47.9

Acceptance and equality, tolerance and love for one another. They matter.

Without kinship, without kindness, without compassion, we don't make it. We can't make it.

3:03.1

I truly believe that horror at its core is about standing together against the darkness.
