travelers in this world, and God has many wonderful truths to teach us along the way. For the next

few moments, we turn our attention to the Word of God, the only roadmap for this journey. You'll find

Join us now as we study the scriptures together. extreme or the other, but often in the acceptance of both. In other words, oftentimes

there are two things that seem to be opposite, and yet they work together. That's true

in many things in Scripture. For example, God connects repentance and faith. God reveals

himself as the sovereign God, and yet gives us a will and the

ability to choose and the responsibility to choose. There are many truths like this that are connected

in scripture. Well, you're going to find one of those in Philippians chapter 3, where we've come to

in our study because verse 15 and verse 16 almost sound like opposite

truths, like they contradict, but they don't, they complete one another. It's not one or the

other, it is both. Let me read them to you. Philippians chapter 3, verse 15, says, let us therefore,

as many as be perfect, be thus minded. And if in anything you be otherwise

minded, God shall reveal even this unto you. Nevertheless, where too we have already attained,

let us walk by the same rule, let us mind the same thing. Now, in verse 15, he says, God is going to show you new things,

and God is going to reveal things to you that you've never seen. Give attention to that.

But in verse 16, he goes back and says, while you're giving attention to new things and listening

show you for the future, don't forget what he's already showed you in the past. Don't let up
