A look now at the crisis in crime that is going on in America,

specifically gang violence.

Chicago police superintendent David Brown says, quote,

gang retaliation culture is one of the biggest drivers of violence on his streets.

And we see it playing out. Suspected gang shooting in New York City, carried out by a young man,

point blank in broad daylight right after he received a phone call, gunwielding, masked,

suspected gang members, shooting mostly innocent bystanders, making their escape on waiting mopeds in a coordinated attack in Queens, New York, and a nine-year-old Chicago girl

struck by a bullet in the head caught in crossfire of a gang shooting last month.

Our panel today includes Chicago alderman Raymond Lopez.

He has been very outspoken about the origins of gang violence in his community and says

that Mayor Lightfoot fails to call it out.
