Let's wrap things up here on the byweek blitz with Coach Samantha Rick.

It's Mississippi State softball.

And coach, the theme of the spring is going to be bouncing back between you and the baseball program.

For your team, when you look at last season to this season, what's the biggest area

where you've got to turn things around?

I think just the overall consistency.

You know, that's been a big message.

I think just from the top down, I think leadership, accountability, just all of it.

So that, you know, we're not in that position that we were, again, like last season, you know, not ending the way we liked.

And I think we still have a lot of players left on the roster from two years ago from our super reasonable run.

And it just, if anything, I thought it really fueled the fire for everybody returning because they know where this program's headed and what it can be.

And then for us to finish and have that disappointing end last year, they've all been

just, I think, another level of just disappointment and resolved to get back after it this year.

And I think it really, honestly, has brought the team closer together.

And it's brought out a lot of good leadership qualities so far this fall for us.

I want to ask you a couple of big picture questions about the sport of softball.

You know, with baseball right now, there is so much focus on analytics.

You know, it feels like the old days of batting average and home runs.

Nobody looks at those anymore.
