We're going to continue the bi-week blitz now, and on this podcast, I have been accused in the past of not talking nice to people.

But with this guest, I have no choice but to talk nice because I've got coach Sam Purcell on the line with me right now.

Mississippi State women's basketball coach looking forward to a great season following up a great

season last year, a run into the NCAA tournament and coach around your program and around

the men's program as well. There's some buzz for basketball at Mississippi State, which we

haven't had here in quite some time. Outside, I feel the buzz. Internally, do you guys feel that as well? Do you feel the excitement-level building as you get closer to tip off? Heck, yeah, we do. Because, you know what? Me and Coach Jans, first of all, Coach Jans, I've always said on the record, man, what a great dude. So obviously we share the same building.

Our offices across the hall for each other.

So there's a family atmosphere around here.

We fist pound each other.

We walk by each other every day.

So it's just kind of an iron sharpens iron mentality.

But most important, we encourage each other and we cheer for each other.

So both programs are going to be any more happy right now.

You had some big-time transfers come into your program, and these are the kind of transfers.

I don't know that you brought them in so much for depth as you brought them in to be

immediate impact players for your team this season.

As you're starting into practice and

you're getting closer to the season, how well of those players integrated into what you want to do

into what this program is? Yeah, no, it's obviously a huge blessing for me. I think they've been

integrated really well because, first of all, especially Lauren Park Lane, you know, we lost both point guards last year.

So not only do we need another point guard, not that Miracle Shepherd or freshmen, it's not going to have a great year.
