Thanks so much for listening to Grow Cook Eat Arrange. I'm sitting in the kitchen at Perch Hill

0:05.2

and the garden's looking particularly lovely at the moment and so I just wanted to do a kind of

0:11.1

NB to anyone who's within shouting distance of Perch Hill or not quite shouting distance but travel

0:18.1

distance which is we're open for the next few months, a few days a

0:22.6

month. And yeah, it would be really lovely to see you. So go on our website and you'll find all the

0:29.2

details of booking there. You can book lunch on three different time slots or you can just come

0:34.0

and wander around the garden. So it's garden only or garden visit plus lunch.

0:38.7

So I hope to see some of you then.

1:29.6

But cordon growing is one of the things that it tends to be quite a binary thing.

1:36.7

It tends to be men quite like cordon growing and women like TP growing.

1:42.2

Maybe because, well, anyway, I'm not going to suppose anything, but you get

1:46.8

more flowers, just letting them romp over a teepee or an arch than you do with cordon training,

1:54.7

and you get shorter stems growing over a teepee rather than cordon training. Now, what's the difference physiologically?

2:03.1

Well, cordon training is just like if you happen to have grown tomatoes in the past.

2:09.4

What you're doing is you're pinching out all the side shoots that come in the auxiliary buds.
