Today, I am joined by an endurance runner who has taken part in some of the toughest ultra marathon races in the world.

She only discovered running in her 30s after running her first half marathon hung over alongside her brother.

Since then she has completed numerous endurance races and she was named the number one runner to follow on Instagram by Runner's World.

I'm good, thank you. I'm good. I'm hoping the sun comes out because it's been very, very rainy. I need to run.

I know. I know. This is June. What's going on? I don't like running in the rain. I'm a to hear that because I always say that and people laugh at me. I'm so happy to have you here in the studio. I'm mega excited. I honestly, you are an inspiration to so many people in the running community, myself included. So for anyone listening who might not know much about you, what you do, could you take us back to the start and maybe talk us through your incredible running journey?

Well, I'll just start at the very beginning. I wasn't a runner at all. I think my PE teachers

would struggle to remember me at all. I wasn't athletic. I was a pretty typical sort of 20-year-old,

lots of parties, smoking, kind of unhealthy. And then I found myself at some point in my mid-30s. I was a single mum.
