So, Asha, how bad were these Supreme Court decisions anyway?

It's complicated.

I'm Asha Rangappa. I teach National Security Law at Yale University and a legal

So, actually, we had a lot of Supreme Court's decisions that came out at the very end.

They were not surprises, I think, to most of us who are paying attention but they were very

consequential and thankfully for me

You've already spent a lot of time explaining these on ABC News so you can you

can be the bear the burden of walking us through some of these decisions.

I mean, I think the first one, I mean,

maybe it started on a happy note was more versus Harper, right?

That was pretty consequential,

but in a very good way. Yeah, yeah, so I was basically strapped to my dining room chair last week.

On Tuesday and Thursday and Friday felt like a soccer goalie, you know, waiting for which opinion was going to come down, but we knew, you know, we knew these big ones were left.

They saved them until the end. And yes, so the first one, let's just, I think let's take some time just to walk through these so that people

understand what the issue was and what the court said, and then we can turn to why it's important and why it matters and what happens.

All right, so Moore versus Harper was the long-awaited decision on the so-called independent state

legislature theory, ISL. So and jump in, Renato, because you know, I was covering a lot of different steps.

idea that the federal Constitution gives state legislatures the power to determine the time, place, and manner of elections.
